A great historic hotel next to the pier
A great historic hotel next to the pier, it was a great experience. The food was very good, the staff very friendly, and the room was in very good condition and clean. Great place to stay if you're travelling to Lynmouth! The pub is spectacular too! I highly recommend visiting/staying at this place!!
Jesus on Booking.comDecorated with taste in a classic style that embraces the age of the Inn
Lovely room overlooking the harbour, accessed from a flight of twisty stairs and a delightfully wonky corridor with original panelling and low, not for me, beams. Our room was decorated with taste in a classic style to embrace the age of the Inn without feeling like your Aunty Edna's house. Great to perch on the window seat and look out to sea with the thatch overhead. Fab breakfast, nicely presented by chefs who understand allergies; mine was strictly gluten-free. Don't be alarmed by the traditional pubby feel when you arrive; this isn't the experience you have as a guest, and despite being one floor up and directly over the front door and outdoor seating, there was no late-night noise to keep us awake at all. Lovely, friendly staff. We would definitely stay here again.
Rachael on TripAdvisorA modern bathroom in a 14th century hotel
A modern bathroom in a 14th century hotel was definitely not expected. Wi-Fi worked in the room. The staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast provided a good selection, and the cooked items were really good. Sunday lunch was close to home made with plenty of different vegetables. Will definitely return!
David on ExpediaA very warm welcome and perfect harbour views
Lovely stay. We received a very warm welcome. The room was beautiful and very modern and stylish. Views from the room out to sea and overlooking the harbour were perfect. Evening meal was delicious and at breakfast there was a large choice of hot and cold foods.
Donna on booking-directly.comThe best smoked salmon and scrambled eggs I have ever had
We had a lovely stay at The Rising Sun. The staff were wonderful and the food was great. The breakfast was particularly good. The best smoked salmon and scrambled eggs I have ever had. Our room overlooked the harbour with wonderful views of the coast and the town. The room was very comfortable. The hotel is 5 minutes' walk from the funicular which takes you up to Lynton.
